All India KD Singh Babu Memorial Hockey
The team of Sports Authority of India (SAI),Lucknow defeated Air Force,Delhi by 3-1 to register its second consecutive victory in the All India KD Singh Babu Memorial Invitation Prize Money Mens Hockey Tournament being held at Dhyanchand astro-turf stadium,Lucknow.
Sunil Kumar Yadav of SAI Lucknow made full use of a penalty-corner awarded to his team in the 10th minute of the play to make the score 1-0. Triveni Prasad made no mistake in capitalising on a pass from the left to consolidate the lead further just two minutes later. However,Sanjay succeeding in bring down the margin to 2-1 in the 18th minute through a penalty-corner (PC) awarded to Air Force. SAI forward Deepak Yadav found the target in the 56th minute to make the score 3-1 which was maintained till the final moments of the play.
In all SAI Lucknow got three PCs out of which it was able to make use of one such opportunity. Air Force team got five penalty-corners and it too was able to make use of one such chance.
In another match knock-out stage match,Sports Hostel UP beat DLW Varanasi by 6-4 through tie-breaker. The score at the regular time-period was tied at 1-1.
