Retd Jailor attacked,wife dead

A retired jailor was injured while his wife was allegedly murdered at their house by unidentified persons in Bazarkhala police station area on Monday.

A retired jailor was injured while his wife was allegedly murdered at their house by unidentified persons in Bazarkhala police station area on Monday. Bazarkhala circle officer Raj Kumar said retired jailor Ambika Prasad and his wife Vimala Tiwari,both octogenarians,lived alone in the house and had no children.

Kumar said the body of Vimala was found on her bed with injury on her head caused by a blunt object. Prasad also suffered injuries on his head and has been admitted at the trauma centre of King George Medical University.

Kumar said though the lock of their almirah was found open,there was no visible sign of anything missing from the house,adding that other aspects were being looked into.

He said the incident appeared to have taken place around 3 pm. However,the police was informed around 8 pm when a relative of the couple came to their house. Station officer N S Rana said Prasad has not been able to give any details about the accused because of his poor vision. The domestic help of the couple and some other persons are being questioned,he added.
