DGP Headquarters Friday ordered an inquiry into the alleged humiliation of a 16-year-old gangrape victim by an Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Pratapgarh district Thursday. The inquiry will be conducted by ADG Sutapa Sanyal. Accompanied by her elder brother, the victim had gone to ASP Ram Murat Yadav to lodge an FIR. ASP Yadav has denied the allegations. He said the girl came to his office accompanied by a lawyer. While he told her the case has already been registered based on her complaint, the girl started creating a scene, he claimed. SHO, Antu police station, Ram Naresh Yadav said a case of rape was lodged soon after the victim had handed over the complaint to the police. He did not know why she went to the ASP’s office. The SHO said the victim is suffering from high fever and is admitted at the district hospital. The FIR has been lodged against one 20-year-old Hausla Prasad and his associate. Hausla, a resident of Amethi, has been arrested. The victim’s father runs a laundry in Mumbai where Hausla, a labourer, was staying for the last five years. As per the complaint, Hausla visited the victims’s house on July 19 and told her that her mother had met with an accident and is admitted in a Sultanpur hospital. He then allegedly took the victim on Thursday to a place where he and his associate raped her till she somehow managed to escape
