A professor at Babu Shivnath Agrawal College,Mathura, was suspended today after a student alleged him of sexually exploiting her a few days ago, police said.

The victim,a B Sc final year student,in a complaint lodged at the Mahila Thana here on Friday, has said that the Head of Department for Botany,Dr JS Parihar, raped her a few days ago. According to the victim, the professor used to call girl students under the pretext of tuition and threatened to fail them,if they did not submit to his wishes. The victim belongs to a rural area in Mathura district and has been facing physical and mental torture for over ten months, she claimed.

Agra (City) Superintendent of Police LR Kumar said the girl had stated that on August 8 the professor forced her to make a physical relation with him threatening her with dire consequences. Police sources said the student has also provided with some video clippings and audio recordings of his telephonic conversations with her and some other students,in which he allegedly made objectionable remarks and lured her for a physical relation promising her good marks in the exam.

Mathura (City) Superintendent of Police Ram Lal Verma said the case against the professor is registered in Agra,as his residence is there and the incident had occurred at the same place. Meanwhile,a group of students created ruckus on the college campus on Saturday ransacking the offices and damaging furniture demanding immediate arrest of the professor.
