Watch dolphins in action in new Scimax show at Regional Science Centre
Opening today is the new Scimax show,Dolphins at the Regional Science Centre,Ekta Vihar,Aliganj Extension,a 40-minute film by Macgillivray Freeman that captures the creatures in their natural splendour. The cinematography,music and the interesting narrative make it a complete family entertainer.
Winner of Academy Award for Best Documentary-Short Subject,its canvas spans across coral reefs of the Bahamas to the seas of Patagonia. Breathtaking underwater sequences and acrobatics of dolphins above the surface of the sea are added attractions in the documentary on their behaviour patterns,fishing activities and communication pattern,set to exhilarating music and sound of splashing sea waves. We run each show for six months,the previous one being on coral reefs, says Education Officer at the centre,KK Chatterjee,about the film that would be inaugurated at 1 pm on Saturday,July 3.
Scimax films are unique entertainment in that two-third part of the dome-shaped auditorium turns into a screen and the viewer is surrounded by sight and sound.
There would be four shows every day,at 12,2,4,6 and the ticket costs Rs 30. Students in groups can pay only Rs 10 each.
