In yet another attempt to collect the missing bills and other related documents in National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) schemes,the CBI team visited the house of former Lucknow CMO Dr AK Shukla on Saturday. Dr Shukla is currently lodged in Lucknow district jail in the case of alleged anomalies in NRHM schemes.
The team had conducted simultaneous search operations at 12 places including Shuklas house on Thursday too. Meanwhile,the CBI team on Saturday called up former Director General (DG) of Health & Family Welfare Dr SP Ram,former Family Welfare DG Dr Usha Narayan and serving Health & Family Welfare DG Dr Ramji Lal asking them to visit the CBI office for interrogation. The three officials are expected to visit the CBI office next week,sources said.
Dr Ram and Dr Narayan had served the Family Welfare department during 2009-2011 and were also supervising heads of the NRHM programmes besides the Mission Director across the state.
On the other hand,the CBI searched Shuklas house at Aliganj following information collected from Dr Shuklas subordinates – Dinesh Singh,Sanjay Anand and Prem Chand Verma – during their interrogation on Friday. The three of them were clerks at the CMO office and were part of the tendering process in NRHM schemes.
At Shuklas premises,the CBI team reportedly collected some documents related to the tenders and payments in NRHM schemes between 2009 and 2010. CBI sources said the seized documents would be scrutinised later.
Moreover,the CBI teams continued scrutinising the files and the documents at the NRHM Directorate and the Lucknow CMO office today.
Another team of officials interrogated the employees of the Jain Medical Hall of Moradabad,Cee Kay Hospitals & Suppliers of Kanpur and Omega Security Services and Omraj Enterprises,both,of Lucknow on Saturday,for their role in the supply of goods for various NRHM programmes in Lucknow.
