Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Sunday that the development of Naimisharanya on the lines of Ayodhya is the priority of his government and there is no dearth of funds for it.

Adityanath said the double-engine government was committed to a comprehensive development of Naimish Tirtha by running a mega drive to revitalise the pilgrimage site.

Addressing saints and priests during his visit to Naimisharanya in Sitapur district, the chief minister said the government was committed to “restore the Vedic and mythological glory of this region” while pointing out that earlier the place was neglected and denied development despite being located near the capital of Lucknow.

“Today, work is going on at a fast pace to provide electric bus services. Helicopter services will also be started soon to connect Naimisharanya with Lucknow. However, the development that is taking place here is only a glimpse of the larger picture. A lot of work still remains to be done here,” the chief minister said.

“The entire country wants to come to Naimisharanya today. After the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the number of devotees visiting here will increase further as tourists and devotees will come from the country and across the world. Therefore, we have to create a conducive environment, which can be achieved only with cleanliness. Along with this, we have to ensure that the visitors and tourists coming here are treated well,” said the chief minister, adding that the Sitapur district will be prominently marked on the tourism map.

The chief minister, on the occasion, gifted projects worth over Rs 550 crore for the development of Sitapur, inaugurated 29 projects worth Rs 91 crore and laid the foundation stone for 45 projects worth Rs 460 crore.
The chief minister also reviewed the ongoing projects and developmental works under the Naimisharanya Dham Teerth Vikas Parishad in collaboration with officials.

During the review, he assessed the progress of projects related to the renovation, reconstruction, and beautification of Naimisharanya Dham and adjacent tourist attractions.
