Mulayam sees third front resurgence in 2014

Samjwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav on Saturday claimed that his party could form the next government at the Centre due to the possible resurgence of third front in the next Lok Sabha elections.

Samjwadi Party (SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav on Saturday claimed that his party could form the next government at the Centre due to the possible resurgence of third front in the next Lok Sabha elections. Mulayam dropped the hint that both national parties — Congress and BJP — may not fare well in the Lok Sabha elections and regional parties may win in their states.

Yadav urged party workers to win maximum seats in coming Lok Sabha elections so that SP has an upper hand and can even form the government at the centre.

“The political scenario at the national level is favouring emergence of third front. Both the national parties Congress and BJP are losing and the third front parties are winning in their states,” said Mulayam while addressing his partymen at SP office.

Mulayam exhorted his partymen to sink their differences and take up the responsibility for winning at least 60 seats in Lok Sabha elections. Currently,SP has 20 seats in Lok Sabha. “If we win at least 60 seats then SP will have leverage in national politics and can even form the government,” said Mulayam.

He is nursing prime ministerial ambitions. For this he asked his partymen to repeat the performance of assembly elections. “We need to repeat the performance in Lok Sabha elections. The country was surprised at the results of assembly elections and it should be repeated,” he said.

He also urged his partymen to maintain their dignity and decorum and attend the grievances of public. “You should shun ego and take care of people’s sufferings. It will enhance government and party’s image in public and win their confidence,” said Mulayam.
