Moninder fashions NR Academy win

The prize distribution ceremony was held later in the day. Ashraf Siddiqui of NYCC and Moninder Maurya of NR Academy were adjudged ‘Best Batsman’ and ‘Best Bowler’,respectively,Umair Waris bagged the Man-of-the-Series award.

Aman Malhotra hines
SQUARE Chargers registered a three wicket victory against Paul Cricket Club in their league match of the St. Ann’s Friendship Cup cricket tournament at Pt. RB Tiwari Stadium,Lucknow on Thursday. However,the Man-of-the-match award went to Aman Malhotra of Paul Cricket Academy as he bowled commendably and also took five wickets giving away just 18 runs.

Batting first,Paul Cricket Club scored 122 runs at the cost of six wickets in the given 20 overs.

Yousuf Safwi (35) and Karan Malhotra (31) were the main run-getters. Zeeshan took three wickets while Vishal Singh claimed two wickets.

In reply,Square Chargers romped home after attaining the set mark in 17.5 overs with three wickets to spare. Ankit Saxena with 33 was the top run-getter. But besides him,only a couple of other batsmen could make a reasonable contribution to the team total due to the devastating five wicket haul by Aman Malhotra. Yousuf Safwi took two wickets.

Trump Starlets triumph
TRUMP Starlets defeated Naqvi Sporting by 51 runs in their first round stage match of the Ratan Lal Sharma Monsoon Trophy cricket tournament at Northern Railway Stadium,Lucknow on Thursday. The tournament is being organised under the auspices of Cricket Association Lucknow (CAL).

In a knock-out stage match of the same tourney played at Pt. RB Tiwari Stadium,Arjun Academy defeated KVS Cricket Club by 5 runs.

The match proved to be a real thriller. Arjun Academy scored 132 runs losing all its wickets in 28.4 overs.

Though,KVS Cricket Club fought back hard but its efforts fell six runs short of the victory mark as the team could muster 127 runs losing eight wickets in the 30 allotted overs.
