Attacking the BJPs prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi over the alleged snooping of a young woman by Gujarat government,BSP chief Mayawati Friday said the Gujarat chief minister should give a clarification to the countrys sisters and brothers instead of indulging in airy talks about other matters.
The former UP chief minister said it was sad that Modi had not responded even as the whole country is talking about the matter. She said her party wanted the Supreme Court to take cognizance of this very serious issue and punish the guilty so that no government dared to misuse the state machinery in future.
Continuing her attack on Modi,Mayawati said he repeatedly speaks about lack of development in UP but before making any such claim about lack of road, water, electricity or airport here,he should answer why no such development happened when BJP was in power in UP and at the Centre.
Slamming the BJP for felicitating its two MLAs who are accused in Muzaffarnagar riots at its rally in Agra, the BSP president said this wrong move could again trigger tension in UP.
She said the SP government should not have given permission for holding such a rally.
Mayawati said the SP governments notification for providing financial aid to people of only one community affected in the Muzaffarnagar riots proves that the government wants to incite Hindu-Muslim conflict over one or the other issue. The notification has been stayed by the Supreme Court.
The BSP chief alleged that the notification was the result of a tacit understanding with the BJP and reiterated her demand of imposing Presidents rule in the state.
Referring Modis remark that SP and BSP are born because of Congresss sins,Mayawati said both the Congress, which is a known casteist, and the BJP,which is a step ahead and spreads casteism and communalism,
are responsible for the creation of the BSP.
Talking about Congress’s demand of implementation of food security law in UP,she said the ruling party at the Centre was trying to fool the people as the states, which are already poor, have been forced to bear the cost of implementing the Centres scheme.
