Minors raped, killed in Bahraich, Amethi

Station officer S K Mishra said the class 2 student had been sleeping outside her house with her family members. However, her body was found about 200 metres away from her house in the morning, the SO said, adding that there was blood on her private parts and prima facie it appears that she was strangulated after being raped.

Police have lodged a case of rape and murder against unidentified persons on the complaint of the girl’s family. The autopsy report of the girl is yet to be received.

In another incident, a 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped and killed by unidentified persons in Visheshwarganj area of Bahraich district. The incident took place Thursday noon when the girl had gone to collect mangoes from an orchard near her village. Her body was recovered from a cane field when the family started a search after she did not return home. The girl was strangulated to death.

Bahraich Additional SP Sunil Kumar Singh said an FIR has been registered for rape and murder against unidentified persons. The pathological report is awaited to confirm if the girl was sexually assaulted, he added.
