Mahesh Arya of the Bahujan Samaj Party was on Thursday declared elected unopposed in the byelection to the lone seat of the UP Legislative Council. The term of the seat ends on

January 30,2015. Only one nomination paper was filed till the last date of filing papers on March 8.
