As BJP leaders in Uttar Pradesh celebrated the NDA’s clean sweep in neighbouring Bihar, saying after “Magadh”, it is “Awadh’s turn”, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav called Friday’s Assembly result an “electoral conspiracy” through the Election Commission’s SIR exercise, and said that the Opposition parties would not allow it to happen in the coming elections in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and and UP.

The Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh will be held in 2027, while West Bengal and Tamil Nadu will go to the polls next year.

“The game that SIR (Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls) played in Bihar will no longer be possible in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, UP, and other places now because this electoral conspiracy has been exposed. We will not allow them to play this game any further. Like CCTV, our ‘PPTV,’ or ‘PDA Prahari will remain vigilant and thwart the BJP’s plans,” Akhilesh posted on X, pointing to his party appointing PDA(Backwards, Dalit, Minority) praharis (guard) to monitor the SIR process in Uttar Pradesh.

“Bhajapa Dal nahi, chhal hai (BJP is not a party, but deceit)”, he said.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who addressed 30 rallies and led one roadshow during his 10-day poll campaign in Bihar, credited the party’s victory to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the welfare policies of the “double-engine government”.

“This historic victory is a stamp of the unwavering trust of the people of Bihar in the development-oriented guidance of the Prime Minister and the public welfare policies of the double-engine government. The mandate is an endorsement of the path of development, good governance, prosperity, and stability on which the new Bihar is advancing with confidence,” Adityanath posted on X, referring to the BJP government at the Centre as well as in Bihar.

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, while targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, said, “Magadh jeeta, Awadh bhi jeetengey. 2027 mein 2017 dohrayenge [Won Magadh (Bihar)m will will Awadh (UP). Will repeat 2017 in 2027].” He was referring to the BJP coming to power in UP in 2017.

Targeting the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, Maurya said that while campaigning in Bihar, the Congress leader dived into a pond. “That was the first exit poll, which is reflected in the results,” Maurya said, referring to Congress’s dismal performance.

BJP ally SBSP, which had fielded its candidates in 27 Assembly seats in Bihar and had publicly announced to support BSP candidates, claimed that it helped the NDA by denting the Opposition Mahagathbandhan’s votes. “We might not have won (any seat in Bihar), but we have been successful in making a dent in the Grand Alliance’s votes, thereby helping the BJP-led NDA. Our party candidates were able to get about 3,000 to 8,000 votes in several seats, which in turn helped the NDA to win,” SBSP spokesperson Arun Rajbhar told The Indian Express.

SBSP chief and Arun’s father, Om Prakash Rajbhar, is a Cabinet minister in the BJP government in UP.

Meanwhile, BJP ally and NISHAD Party chief Sanjay Nishad thanked the fishermen community in Bihar for “supporting the NDA partners”.
