The state government has decided to invite bids to select a consultant for the implementation of Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) proposed in Lucknow. A high-level committee, headed by Chief Secretary Jawed Usmani,on Friday cleared the bid document for inviting Request for Qualification (RFQ) from firms having experience in BRTS-related projects. The consultant will have to prepare a detailed project report and assist the state government in the bidding process for selection of a developer for the project.
The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is the nodal agency for the project till the formation of a special purpose vehicle. Member of the high-level committee and LDA vice-chairman Rajneesh Dube said RFQ will soon be invited for selection of a consultant for the project.
Ahmedabad-based Centre for Environment Planning and Technology (CEPT) had prepared a pre-feasibility report of the project earlier in May.
