The Lucknow Cricket Academy (LCA),an affiliated unit of Cricket Association Lucknow (CAL) has claimed that it has not received any letter of suspension from Cricket Association Lucknow (CAL) till date.

The matter relates to an incident in which the final of the Sixth Under-16 Lala Amarnath Cricket Tournament between Unity Cricket Academy and LDACC could not take place on July 16. An official of LCA had reportedly reached the venue all of a sudden with some boys and toppled the scorers’ table demanding that their protest letter submitted earlier should be first entertained. The protest was regarding the cutting of two overs from the LCA innings before the Unity Cricket Academy vs LCA semis, which was supposed to be played on July 15. Taking up the matter seriously, the ‘erring’ club LCA was suspended by CAL till December 31.

On Wednesday, secretary LCA Mohsin Raza alleged that as per the by-laws of CAL,first a show cause notice has to be served to a club/ unit and then action is taken against it. “We came to know only on July 19 through newspapers that LCA has been suspended. We have not received any suspension letter till date. On July 20,I met secretary CAL asking for the details and also submitted an application regarding the same. Khan gave me the receiving of my application but in turn what I received from him on July 24 through Speed Post was a letter dated July 20,asking us to give our clarification of the incident which took place on July 16 during the final of Lala Amarnath Cricket. Our legal advisor sent our reply within a week but now so many days have passed,we have not got any response from CAL in this regard. I have phoned CAL secretary several times in this regard but in vain,” Raza said.

Raza also claimed that no LCA official had tried to disrupt the final match.

Though secretary CAL KM Khan, who is out of town, could not be contacted on his mobile,a CAL official said on condition of anonymity,” I don’t understand how people can justify themselves after such unsporting acts.”Sonu shines in DYA win
