The kidnapping case of 12-year-old boy in which two persons are still lodged in Mau Jail took an interesting turn on Monday when the police came to know that the boy is lodged in a child protection home in Mumbai.

The kidnapping case of 12-year-old boy in which two persons are still lodged in Mau Jail took an interesting turn on Monday when the police came to know that the boy is lodged in a child protection home in Mumbai.

The police contacted the superintendent of the Naveen Child Protection Home who confirmed that the boy is there. They also spoke to the boy who told them that he was caught by the Mumbai police at a railway station and sent to the protection home in January.

The boy had been missing since last December and and his parents had filed a kidnapping case against five persons with whom he had gone to Mumbai to work.

Manoj and Chandan are lodged in Mau Jail, while Santosh,Guddu and Anil are absconding. “Now since the picture is clear,a police team will be sent to Mumbai to get the boy back. We will produce boy before the court and then file an application requesting to release both persons lodged in jail,” said Investigation Officer Munawar Hussain.

Hussain said that they had come to know that the boy’s father Mohan Chaurasia had already left for Mumbai to get his son back. “I’ve spoken to the boy and he told me how he reached the protection home,” said IO. On Saturday,a man who had returned from Mumbai went to the Mohammadabad police station and told them that he had seen the missing boy in the Mumbai protection home. He had gone to the home to meet a relative lodged there, when he was told about this boy.

“The man told us that when he met the boy,he gave him his family’s details. We cross-checked the details with the police records which tallied and then we informed the boy’s family,” said a police officer.

The boy, along with his relatives and neighbours, had gone to Mumbai for work. In February,a relative informed his parents that he had gone missing. The family rushed to Mumbai, but failed to find him.
