Boy beaten to death by girls family
Muzaffarnagar: In a suspected case of honour killing,a boy was beaten to death allegedly by the girls family members,who were opposed to his relation with their daughter,police said on Saturday.
Ases Mohd,25,was beaten to death at Sarwat locality here on Friday,they said.
The boys mother,Kasmi Begum,has lodged a complaint against four members of the girls family alleging that her son was poisoned and later beaten to death.
Attempt to poach leopard in sanctuary
Lakhimpur: Unidentified poachers attempted to kill a young leopard in the highly protected Kishunpur Sanctuary of the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve,official sources said here on Saturday. The poachers set up an iron clamp to capture the leopard whose left fore-leg got fixed into the trap,they said. The patrolling staff of the Kishunpur Sanctuary came to know of the incident when the leopard roared this morning.

Three IAS officers transferred
Lucknow: In a minor reshuffle,the Uttar Pradesh government has transferred three IAS officers,an official spokesman said here. The Principal Secretary in Rural Development department,Sri Krishna,has been transferred to Small Industries and Export Promotion Department,while Secretary in Small Industries,Manoj Singh,has been moved to the Rural Development department in the same capacity. On the other hand,the Principal Secretary,Basic Education department,Raju Sharma has been transferred to Higher Education department. The Principal Secretary,Social Welfare department,Balwinder Singh,was earlier divested of additional charge of Kanshi Ram Urban Development Department. Now,this charge has been given to the Principal Secretary,Housing and Urban development,J N Chamber. PTI
