Ansaris land attached
LUCKNOW: The Ghazipur district administration attached a piece of land belonging to M/S Ansari Construction Private Limited owned by Afsah Ansari wife of jailed MLA Mukhtar Ansari and others on Saturday. The attachment process was initiated after an order from the district magistrate under 14(A) Gangster Act. According to SP (City) Shalabh Mathur,the action was initiated after the police found that Afsah,a housewife,with no means of earning,had bought .092 hectares worth Rs 50 lakh in Ghazipur districts Cant area.
Car overturns,2 dead
LUCKNOW: Two persons died and three others were injured when the car they were travelling in overturned in Sultanpur districts Gauriganj area in the early hours of Saturday. The deceased have been identified as Brijesh Pandey (34),an engineer with the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited,and his friend Nitin Kumar (28).
BSPs Brahmin Bhaichara meet held
LUCKNOW: A meeting of the BSPs Brahmin Bhaichara was held at the party office in Lucknow on Saturday. Party National General Secretary S C Mishra and Rajya Sabha member Brijesh Pathak participated in the meeting. The BSP leaders who attended todays meeting were asked to highlight the BSP governments special focus on developing places like Mathura,Kashi and Ayodhya, a source said. The leaders of Brahmin Bhaichara were also reportedly told to constitute committee at block/district level at the earliest.
Atiqs wife not mafia: Police
LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh Police said on Saturday that Shaista Perveen,wife of jailed former MP Atiq Ahmad,has not been listed as mafia in its records. On Friday,the Allahabad police had said it has included Perveen in its latest list of mafia. According to a release issued by the DGP office,Perveen is not a member of any mafia gang.
