Anuj excels

Promising young player,Anuj Bhargava of the Sai Snooker Academy laid low the pride of the defending champion IS Malik in the final of the billiards event to be crowned the district billiards champion here at MB Club on Tuesday evening the Fourth Raja Ram Kumar Bhargava memorial district billiards and snooker championships.

For Malik it was heartbreaking let down,as this day his cue was not as vocal as it should have been, sadly out of touch and more emphatically inconsistent.

For Anuj,it was the culmination of hard work, commitment and a sense of purpose which fetched him the honours at the end of the two hour match. In the morning on Tuesday,Anuj who is also the No. 2 billiards player Uttar Pradesh, exhibited great character to pip the state junior billiards champion and No. 2 junior billiards player of the country,Malkeet Singh in a nerve tingling two hour second semi-final match by a mere two points

by 404-402 points to earn right to set up a clash with Malik who last evening had made it to the final with close victory over Gaurav Nathani. In the final,Anuj recorded the best break of the championship,a well constructed break of 80 in the process outplaying Malik.
