‘Honour killing’: Brother beheads sister

A 20-year-old girl was killed by his brother on Saturday,who went to a police station with the severed head after a suspected case of honour killing,the police said on Sunday. Objecting to her desire to marry a 50-year-old person,her brother Nanke chopped off her head,they said.

“Mahroon,who wanted to marry a 50-year-old person of Tajpur village in Rabipur area of the district,was beheaded by her brother Nanke,” Superintendent of Police Vinay Kumar Yadav said.

On the complaint filed by the girl’s father,the police recovered the body and sent it for post- mortem,Yadav said.

Nanke was arrested and a case registered against him under various sections of the IPC,the police said,adding that investigations were on.
