The Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court on Tuesday issued a notice to the Central government on a petition seeking a CBI probe into the murder of Rajjan Shukla,a Congress worker of Sultanpur who was allegedly killed by the goons by a BSP legislator.
The bench of Justices Satyendra Singh Chauhan and Yogendra Kumar Sangal gave five days time to the Centre to file the reply.
Rajjans father Ram Sundar Shukla had filed a petition accusing the state government of shielding Chandra Prakash, the ruling BSP MLA from Gauriganj in Sultanpur district. Shukla alleged that the legislator got his son killed because of political rivalry submitted and urged the court to hand over the investigation to the central agency saying the state government was a party in crime.
While Shuklas father has lodged a complaint against Chandra Prakash, his nephew Satish,history-sheeter Shriram Giri and Alok Dubey alias Munna in the FIR,the police on the behest of the state government gave a clean chit to the MLA, said Nadeem Ahmed, petitioners counsel. Rajjan,34,who was a booth committee member of the Sultanpur unit of the Congress, was killed on May 3.
