HC asks govt not to deprive staff of promotions

The Allahabad High Court has ruled that eligible government employees with a bright career should not be deprived of promotional avenues. “The denial of promotional avenues with the intention to adjust others shall have demoralising effect on the government employee,” Justices Devi Prasad Singh and Bala Krishna Narain of the Lucknow bench of the high court said. The bench passed the judgement on Friday on a writ petition of Dr Raksha Goswami challenging her removal from the post of Director (Ayurveda) and her appointment as Director (Syllabus and Evaluation),which she said was an insignificant post.
