The BJP state unit will have to wait for another month before the names in the new state committee including that of the state president are finally announced.
With the elections of zonal committees still due in around a dozen districts,it is clear that the organisational elections will not be complete before April 20. The original deadline got over on Monday.
Party sources say national president Nitin Gadkari has asked the state unit to complete the election process positively by April-end.
The organisational elections began in January after the primary membership campaign ended in December.
The four-tier elections begin with booth committees, followed by zonal committees or mandal samitis, district committees and finally the state body elections.
Explaining the delay,a senior party leader said,Many booth committees saw re-elections as workers complained of bias and favouritism.
In Lucknow and Gorakhpur, where the mandal elections for both the mahanagar and the district the two divisions in the district level committees are yet to take off.
State election in-charge Ashok Dhawan said they are trying their best to maintain the deadline. Our zonal elections will be over by March-end,and the district elections in the next 10 days.
