Uttar Pradesh Lokayukta has registered two new cases of corruption against expelled BSP leader Babu Singh Khushwaha over alleged irregularities in allotment of mining contracts in the state,officials said today.
Shiv Pujan Singh and Arun Dwivedi,hailing from Khushwahas home district Banda,lodged complaints against the former minister yesterday accusing him of misusing mining rights,investing illegal money in firms and changing his name to contest elections,they said. The Lokayukta,Justice (retired) N K Malhotra,has directed Khushwaha to file his reply by December 26.
At present Kushwaha is facing a Lokyayukta inquiry in two other cases.
In a separate case,the Lokayukta directed Principal Secretary Kunwar Fateh Bahadur to file a reply by December 28 on corruption charges made by an RTI activist against him.
