To find a permanent solution to the major problem of littered garbage,Gurgaon-based A 2 Z Infrastructure Private Limited intends to set up the biggest integrated resource recovery plant of the country at Kanpur.
To this end,five projects have already been chalked out,of which two have already been completed and the rest are advancing completion.
Currently,the private firm is manufacturing organic manure and refuse-derived fuel from garbage. Three major projects related to the manufacturing of bricks and pavement tiles,plastic products and generating electricity from garbage are on the verge of completion and are expected to start in the coming few months.
According to A 2 Z Infrastructure Private Limited officials,the production of bricks and pavement tiles from construction and demolition debris will start from June-end,whereas the firm will start the manufacturing of plastic products from August 15,2010. The much-awaited project to generate 15 MW electricity from garbage is expected to start from March 31,2011.
The firm began the construction from August 15,2008 on the 46-hectare land in Panki Bhau Singh Kheda.
CEO and Joint Managing Director of A 2 Z Infrastructure Private Limited Rajneesh Mehra said: Once all the five projects start at Panki Bhau Singh Kheda area,it will become the biggest integrated resource recovery plant of the country.
Pointing out the importance of organic manure,Mehra said large-scale use of inorganic fertilizers and urea has brought down the fertility level of agricultural fields. The organic manure manufactured by A 2 Z Infrastructure Private Limited has been approved by Indian Agriculture Research University and Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology.
Municipal Commissioner R Vikram Singh said: It is a positive move and the results will be seen in the next two years.
