Five pilgrims die in accident

Five persons were killed when a private bus carrying 51 pilgrims from Mathura to Pratapgarh fell into a roadside pit in Gadaganj area of Rae Bareli district on Wednesday morning. A case of rash driving and death caused by negligence has been registered against bus driver Bashir Ahmed who is absconding. Gadaganj police station Sub-Inspector A K Shukla said they came to know of the accident around 5.30 am. The police team,with the help of locals,smashed windowpanes and rescued 46 people.
