FIR lodged against UP MLA

The Rae Bareli police on Saturday evening lodged an FIR against Akhilesh Singh,an MLA from Rae Bareli,at the Kotwali police station.

The Rae Bareli police on Saturday evening lodged an FIR against Akhilesh Singh,an MLA from Rae Bareli,at the Kotwali police station.

Singh has been booked under section 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC,said SP,Rae Bareli,Laxmi Narain.

Akhilesh,who had won the Assembly election as an Independent, had recently joined the Peace Party of India. The police said the complainant in the case is Ramesh Kumar Singh,who is supervisor of a construction agency involved in government housing project.

According to Sudhakar Singh,Inspector,Kotwali police station,Remesh Kumar in the FIR stated that on October 16 the MLA came to the site of construction and stopped the work after threatening them. He also stated the MLA accused that material used in construction was sub-standard.
