FIR lodged against minister’s men for abduction bid

The Pratapgarh police on Tuesday lodged an FIR against two supporters of Khadi and Gramodyog Minister Raja Ram Pandey for allegedly making an attempt to kidnap block development committee members on Monday night.

Station officer of Jethwara police station Raj Kumar who lodged the FIR,said that the minister’s supporters Dhan Singh and Rajesh Singh alias Toofan Singh went to Phoolpur village last night,accompanied by armed aides. They had gone there to seek the support of BDC members in favour of Rajesh Singh who is an aspirant for the post of chairman of the block development committee Lakshmanpur. No-confidence has been proposed against sitting block chairman Awadhesh Tiwari alias Bade Tiwari and the BDC members will take a decision on March 15,said the SO. He also said that BDC members Ram Kali and her husband Nand Lal Yadav objected to the visit of Rajesh and Dhan,which led to an altercation and then brick-batting. The SO said that Ram Kali alleged that Rajesh and others made an attempt to kidnap BDC members who were with her at that time.
