A FIR was lodged against two Samajwadi Party (SP) workers and 15 others for allegedly pelting stones on the fleet of party MP from Rampur,Jaya Prada,and misbehaving with her on Saturday noon.
Superintendent of Police,Rampur,Veer Bahadur Singh said: The FIR has been lodged by Mustafa Qureshi,a Samajwadi Party leader,and he has named two party workers and others for pelting stones on Jaya Pradas car and trying to open the doors of the vehicle.
The Additional SP of Rampur,Daya Ram,said: Mustafa Qureshi,the member of SP State Working Committee,has alleged that party
workers Rifaqat Ali and Shah Alam accompanied by 15 others stopped the fleet of Jaya Prada near Lalpur village near Kosi river around 2.30 pm. As they were carrying the party flag the MP asked the driver to stop the car.
The FIR stated that the group led by Ali and Shah Alam pelted stones on the fleet of cars and opened the doors of MPs car. They allegedly tried to misbehave with her when the security men escorting the MP,intervened and shooed away the troublemakers, the ASP told The Sunday Express.
He said the FIR has been lodged at Azeem Nagar police station under Sections 147 (punishment for rioting),504 (insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC.
When inquired if the complainant has alleged BSP workers were also involved in the incident,the ASP denied.
