Engineering Love

UPTU passout bitten by the bestseller bug

What is it about engineering college student writing love stories?

“Engineers are trained to be the change makers and I guess it is the ability to see and present the big picture that makes them good writers too,” says Pankaj Pandey,B Tech in Computer Engineering from the Babu Banarasi Das Institute,Ghaziabad, who was in the city to launch his debut novel The Saga of Love (Mahabeer Publishers) at Landmark.

“As much I loved 3 Idiots,I was disturbed by a dialogue by the protagonist mocking at engineers who complete MBA and end up working in a bank. I feel, technical education is the basis of success and leadership in any field,” says Pandey, who, after a stint in Wipro,Bangalore, got his love story of an engineering under graduate published.

“During the test marketing,1,000 copies were sold. It was actually on behest of friends that I put my diary musings together in the form of a book. I am glad,it’s been appreciated by everyone who has read it,” says Pandey, who quit his job and now runs personality development programmes for a number of corporate houses across the country.
