Dy CMO key accused also in Dr Arya murder

A senior official told The Sunday Express on Saturday the details so far with the police have confirmed that Dr Sachan had got his immediate senior Dr Arya eliminated as all the major orders or contracts involving big funds used to be issued by the CMO only. Dr Sachan also had no say in making decision over selection of the private firms for various projects related to the NRHM,he said.

The official also said that Dr Sachan had hired a group of criminals at a payment of Rs 5 lakh to kill Dr Arya and Anand Tiwari knew about the conspiracy.

The STF had arrested Anand,Ram Krishna Verma and Vinod Sharma on Friday and Cabinet Secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh had later briefed the media about Dr Sachan’s role in the murder of CMO Dr BP Singh.

The cabinet secretary had also stated on Friday that Dr Sachan and other accused had also been involved in Dr Arya’s murder,but he did not give specific details about the role of the accused. He had said the further investigation and interrogation of the arrested accused would lead to more findings.

However,on Saturday,the Lucknow Range IG,Subesh Kumar Singh told The Sunday Express the specific details about the conspiracy behind the murder of Dr Arya would be known after the accused are quizzed extensively. The Lucknow police would be seeking police custody remand of Dr Sachan and Anand Tiwari on Monday,he said.

He also said that Anand and Dr Sachan would be interrogated when they would be facing each other. They have been seeking remand of two of them only as the duo has all the important details about Dr Arya’s murder.

When inquired if the same shooters were involved the killing of both the CMOs,the IG replied the .32 bore pistol recovered from Anand on Friday has been sent for forensic examination at the Lucknow laboratory to confirm if it was used in the killings. The ballistic test of the shells recovered from the spots of the two murders has already confirmed the bullets were fired from one weapon only.

If the forensic test of the weapon confirms it as the same weapon,the connection between the shooters involved in the two murders using same pistol would be corroborated,he said.

Singh also said that no more fresh arrest is likely to be made as per the findings so far.
