The Shankaracharya of Dwarkapeeth,Swami Swaroopanand, who is a party to the Ayodhya title suits, plans to undertake fresh efforts to seek an amicable solution through negotiations with Muslim leaders.
The Shakaracharya plans to call a meeting of the Ramalaya Trust, which was launched in 1993 and with which all four Shankaracharyas are associated, after the end of the Navratri festival in New Delhi, said Swami Brahma Vidyanand, who deals with the media at the Shankaracharyas office in Dwarka. The Navratri festival ends on October 17.
Maharjji has already initiated steps in this direction. The court verdict has opened new ways to seek an amicable solution, said Vidyanand. He said the Trust would approach prominent Muslim leaders, including those associated with the All India Muslim Personal Law Board.
Swaroopanands lawyer P N Mishra expressed hope of reaching an amicable solution. But we will keep our options open on moving the Supreme Court, he said.
Meanwhile, the Nirmohi Akharas counsel,R L Verma, said that while they did not oppose a peaceful resolution, someone must bring before us a formula to end the dispute. He said they would move the apex court saying that their claim was not time barred.
Like Akhara, the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha sees no chance of any compromise and wants to move the Supreme Court. The counsel for Mahasabha,Harishanker Jain, said,It is not a partition suit in which there are co-sharers.
However, counsels for Bhagwan Shri Ram Lalla Virajman and the late Gopal Singh Visharad favour the idea of an amicable solution through negotiations. Neither of them wants to move the Supreme Court as they are satisfied with the verdict.
I dont think there is any need for us to move the Supreme Court. We can file our counter-affidavit if others go to court, said M M Pandey, counsel for the title filed in the name Shri Ram Lala Virajman.
Pandey said nobody can claim the ownership of the deitys properties, but I am not against a suitable formula to end the dispute.
Lawyer Ajay Pandey, who is counsel for Rajendra Singh, son of the late Gopal Singh Visharad, said he is in no mood to move the Supreme Court because our prayer for permission to worship the deity has been granted.
