While launching 350 projects at his residence Thursday,Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav announced that the Samajwadi Party will contest the 2014 Lok Sabha elections on the plank of development. He added that efforts of political parties to polarise voters will not work.
People are intelligent and they will judge the performance of all political parties. We are hopeful of peoples support as we are concentrating on welfare of all sections.
He said big parties like the Congress will not succeed in UP. People are aware of the work done by the Congress and BSP. Only our party has provided facilities to farmers, employment to youths and development of the state.
In any case,in UP,only SP is a big party. Wherever I had gone outside the state, people regard us as big, said Akhilesh.
The Chief Minister underlined that work on some centrally sponsored schemes was still incomplete. We raised the issue at the Planning Commission meeting. If we get Rs 5000 crore, these projects will be completed, he added.
Highlighting the achievements of his government,he said medical colleges at Azamgarh and Jalaun have been started and 50 extra seats of MBBS have been added at U P Rural Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS),Saifai.
Similar is the case with bridges. The previous BSP regime kept them pending,as most of them were in places with SP MLAs. We are completing them now, he said.
The Chief Minister said the rail overbridge on Mall Avenue will also be completed early if the Centre extended support.
