Court orders FIR against minister

Special chief judicial magistrate of Allahabad Sessions Court on Saturday ordered police to lodge an FIR against Nand Gopal Gupta alias Nandi,the minister for Stamp and Institutional Finance in Chief Minister Mayawati’s cabinet.

The minister is accused of beating an advocate of the district court at the former’s residence on March 12. The victim,Rajendra Prashad Kesari,had moved an application before the CJM and had requested him to order an FIR since police of Mutthigang police station were not lodging his complaint allegedly under the minister’s pressure. After the court issued the order,the deputy inspector general of police B P Tripathi said that he has already instructed the police station concerned to lodge the case. The FIR would be filed after getting the copy of the court order,he added.
