Constable killed in road mishap

A constable of Uttar Pradesh police was killed and five other personnel injured when a jeep carrying crime branch team collided with a tractor here.

Mathura: A constable of Uttar Pradesh police was killed and five other personnel injured when a jeep carrying crime branch team collided with a tractor here. According to police sources,the mishap took place Tuesday night near Birla temple when the crime branch team was returning from a visit to Vrindavan in connection with a robbery case. Constable Pankaj Kumar died from the injuries sustained in the collision between the jeep and the tractor trailer laden with bricks while five other members of the police team accompanying him in the vehicle were injured.

Three family members were among five persons killed and seven others got injured when a truck hit their tempo in Mall area on outskirts of the city,police said Wednesday. Raghuveer (42),his wife Neelam (35),daughter Sunita (18),Sunderlal (36) and tempo driver Rahul (19) died on the spot.
