Cong yatras a flop show: Shahi

Terming the Congress yatras as “flop show”,BJP state president Surya Pratap Shahi said the Congress leaders had failed to garner support from the people for the yatras.

Addressing his workers at Ayodhya after visiting the Ram Lalla temple and Hanuman Garhi,Shahi said the Congress had to stop these yatras before schedule as they did not receive a good response.

“The Congress leaders are making excuses like heat wave to cover up their failures. I am also travelling the length and breadth of the state, trying to cover one-third of the state within a week’s time in this heat,” said Shahi.

Calling the BJP the only nationalist party,Shahi asked the workers to work hard and present the party as the most reliable option in the 2012 Assembly polls.

“While the Congress is vanshwadi, the Bahujan Samaj Party is Mayawadi and the Samajwadi Party has turned into a parivarwadi party. BJP is a Rashtravadi party,” he said.

Hitting out at BSP,Shahi said when he was a minister he had cracked the whip on liquor mafia in the state. “But now,the state government is favouring them and giving them a free hand.”

Shahi was accompanied by state leaders like Mahendra Singh,Swatantra Dev Singh,Suresh Tiwari,Hero Bajpai,Dilip Srivastava,Subhash Tripathi,Jagat Narain Dubey and youth leaders Pankaj Singh and Dayashankar Singh. After Faizabad,Shahi moved to Varanasi where he will visit the Kashi Vishwanath temple on Saturday.
