Union Minister of State for Tourism and Trinamool Congress general secretary Sultan Ahmed on Friday said the Congress leaders come to Uttar Pradesh just for caravanning during day time and return to Delhi by night, doing nothing for the state.

Speaking at a press conference,Ahmed said all the regimes in the state and at Centre have failed to bring development in the state. In an apparent reference to AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi,Ahmed said it was a grim scenario that the politicians comment that the people of UP go begging to Mumbai and Punjab while they have done nothing for the development of the state.

Ahmed released the list of candidates for the third and fourth phases of elections in the state.

He said the candidates of 11 small parties including National Loktantrik Party,Labour Party,Jansatta Party, and Samtamulak Party, will contest on tickets of Trinamool Congress. He said Trinamool Congress has announced the names of its 175 candidates for UP assembly poll.

He said his party was also talking with the Bundelkhand Congress and Janata Dal(U) to form a coalition but nothing had been decided till now.

Reacting to the Congress’s 4.5 per cent reservation to minorities Ahmed said the Congress has played a joke with the Muslims and the Muslims should get reservation in proportion to their population.
