Maya govt setting up barriers to undo Kisan Yatra: BJP

LUCKNOW: The BJP on Wednesday alleged that the Mayawati government was creating hurdles in its four-day-long ‘Kisan Bachao Yatra’ by preventing party leaders from meeting the farmers affected by land acquisition for the Yamuna Expressway project. BJP national vice president Kalraj Mishra said,“The administration is trying to mislead us. The roads,which we have to take to meet villagers,have been purposely damaged to hamper the movement of about 250 vehicles.” He said party workers undertaking the yatra had to clear the roads themselves to be able to move forward. The yatra was flagged off on Wednesday in Agra by senior party leader Rajnath Singh.

AGRA: SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Wednesday alleged that there was a “tacit understanding” between the Congress and the BSP to make sure that his party does not come to power in the state elections due next year.

Pirated book racket busted,2 held

LUCKNOW: Two persons,identified as Mazhar Hussain and Mudit Jain,were arrested in Moradabad in connection with a racket involving printing of pirated books of the National Book Trust and Children’s Book Trust. The books were being supplied to libraries of primary and junior high schools under the name of ‘Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan’ at a higher price. The administration conducted verification at 40 schools in the district and found that the gang supplied pirated books in 16 schools. Inquiry in other schools is underway. There are a total of 4,000 schools in the district.
