BSP leader shot dead

A local BSP leader was shot dead following a dispute in Mathura district on Tuesday. The prime accused has surrendered before the court. G P Sharma,Agra Range IG,said Jitendra alias Kalua Jaat and three others fired at Ashok Agrawal (52) while he was on way to his shop in the Raya area. Agrawal was rushed to the district hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. Sharma said Jitendra had abducted Agrawal’s niece on April 13,2008. The girl was later rescued,but Jitendra had procured a stay against his arrest. “He killed Agrawal as the victim was pursuing the case against him,” the IG said.
