BSP expels four party men

Bahujan Samaj Party has expelled four persons,including two former ministers and two former MLAs on the charge of their alleged involvement in anti-party activities,on Wednesday. The expelled leaders are former Amebedkar village development minister Ratan Lal Ahirwar,former minister of Home Guard department Hariom Upadhayay,former MLA from Konch (Jalaun) Ajay Pankaj and former MLA from Kalpi (Jalaun). Jhansi district unit president of BSP Mukesh Ahirwar confirmed the expulsion of the four party leaders. All the four expelled leaders were denied party ticket.

Teachers to inform DMs before leaving

Lucknow: The state government on Wednesday asked teachers to inform concerned District Magistrates before venturing out of the districts.

Basic Education Minister Ram Govind Chowdhury,informing about the government decision,said if any Basic Shiksha Adhikari leaves his concerned district without prior information,strict action would be initiated against him. The minister also directed various officers of the Basic Education Department to ensure publication of academic books,to be distributed among the children,before the next session in July.

Cancel exam after paper leak: DM

Bareilly: The question paper of Mathematics second paper of intermediate examination conducted by Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board was leaked on Wednesday,after which the district authorities sought the cancellation of the exam. A complaint was received by DM Subhash Chandra Sharma that Maths II paper of intermediate examination to be held in the second shift was being sold for Rs 1000-2000 in different parts of the city since morning,official sources said here. Acting on the complaint,the DM ordered sub-divisional magistrate Ravindra Kumar to verify the paper being sold in the market with the original one,they said. The SDM checked the two papers at different centres and found more than 90 per cent similarity but by that time examination has already started. Sharma said an inquiry has been ordered into the paper leakage and a letter sent to the board secretary to cancel the examination.

Vasudev Yadav director of UP board

Lucknow: The state government on Wednesday gave charge of Director of Secondary Education to Vasudev Yadav,who is currently Secondary Education Secretary. “Yadav has been given additional charge of Director,Secondary Education,” official sources said here. The post of Director,Secondary Education,has been lying vacant since the arrest of Sanjay Mohan on charges of irregularities in the Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET).
