FIR against four for gang rape

Mau: An FIR has been lodged against four persons,including two policemen,for allegedly gangraping a 42-year-old woman,the police said on Thursday. According to the woman’s complaint,she was raped by two policemen and a hotel owner on June 19 in Ghosi area when she had gone out for dinner.

Woman,kids charred to death

Lucknow: A 32-year-old woman and her two children were charred to death when their thatched house caught fire in Gonda district,the police said on Thursday. Sadhna Tiwari and her daughters Anshika (5) and Shristi (1) died when their house caught fire while she was cooking food.

Man consumes poison on flight

Lucknow: A Delhi-bound Spicejet flight made an emergency landing at Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport at Amausi on Thursday after one of the passengers,Sumit Rajat,consumed poison on board,Director,airport,Atul Dixit said. Rajat was rushed to a private hospital where his condition was stated to be stable.

Abha Agnihotri renominated

Lucknow: The UP government has renominated Abha Agnihotri as the chairperson of State Woman Commission for a year. Sunita Devi and Namrata Pathak have also been renominated as vice chairpersons of the Commission for one year .
