“The BJP government is Mahakal for the goons and mafia and for those who disrespect our sisters and daughters,” said Adityanath addressing a meeting at Shukarteerath, a Hindu religious place around 28 km from Muzaffarnagar,
Laying the foundation stones of nearly 77 development projects worth Rs 244 crore in Muzaffarnagar district, the Chief Minister said, “The previous government did not pay any heed to the development, but my government is committed to ensuring an all-around development of
the state.”
The Chief Minister pointed out that before his party came to power in the state (2017), maintaining law and order was not a priority for the previous government, and thus, there was an atmosphere of lawlessness in the state.
“Devotees would fear taking out religious processions before 2017, but now flower petals are showered on kanwar yatris. Farmers would not work in their fields because engines meant for irrigation would be stolen.
And people were forced to migrate because the law and order situation was at its worst. Things have changed now.
Women are safe in the BJP regime. They can walk late at night without fearing criminal elements,” the Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister also announced the formation of a Shukarteerath Development Board to develop the religious place where Hindu pilgrims visit in the month of Kartik (October-November) to take a holy dip in the Ganga.
“The formation of the Board is in the final stage. I had promised the devotees that my government would work to divert the stream of Ganga towards Shukrateerath so that they do not have to walk for a few kilometres to take dip in the river. The formation of the Board is a step towards fulfilling that promise,” Adityanath said.
Adityanath had Thursday said that previous governments had deployed corrupt individuals everywhere, who were making the entire system hollow.
Emphasising that there is now no casteism or nepotism in the recruitment process like it used to be in the past, Adityanath had said there are no considerations for region, language, or caste in giving appointments. “Only those who qualify will be selected,” he said.
He said after recovering from a “BIMARU” status, Uttar Pradesh is moving towards becoming a significant economic force in the nation.
