Cricketer Suresh Raina is excited to hear that he will be getting a chance to taste his favourites kebabs from Lucknow even when he is busy gearing up for semi-final match against Pakistan. UP cricketer and Raina’s close friend Ali Hamid Zaidi said that Raina was happy when he learnt the special kebabs will be reaching him soon.
Naushijan, the restaurant from where the kebabs will be sent to Raina, has in fact started a Suresh Raina food festival. Raina visits this place, located near the Press Club at Lucknow. The kebabs have been prepared in the shape of a bat and have been named Raina kebabs. People will be able to watch the India vs Pakistan semi-final on Wednesday on a plasma TV,the restaurant also plans to put a projector screen outside if people turn-up beyond its capacity. The waiters have already started serving these kebabs wearing Raina shirts.
Talking to The Indian Express,Rainas friend Ali Hamid Zaidi said, I had a talk with Raina yesterday and he was happy to know that the kebabs will be reaching him. I visited the restaurant before leaving for the airport today. Though I had to fly to Mumbai for some work I will be reaching Mohali tomorrow. I have asked some of my friends who will also be reaching Mohali from Lucknow,to bring these kebabs.
Actually,Raina is a big foodie. Be it these kebabs,or Tundes,or nehari…even vegetarian food…Raina enjoys all things which taste good, he confided.
With the city in the grip of the World Cup fever,a multiplex has planned to show the match in its audi. Theatres are also giving the idea a thought.
A cricket academy organised an all-religion prayer meet to wish India luck ahead of the match. Young cricket freaks wrote Good luck messages for India on this occasion.
