Bahraich DM transferred after communal clash

The state government has transferred the district magistrate of Bahraich days after it was hit by communal violence.

Lucknow: The state government has transferred the district magistrate of Bahraich days after it was hit by communal violence. DM Bahraich Govind Raju N S has swapped places with DM Sultanpur Pinki Jowel,an official spokesman said here.

Boy carried away by wolf

Lucknow: A six-year-old boy,Nankau,was taken away by a wolf while 12-year-old Sushila was injured in Sitapur’s Rangwa village on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. Both children were sleeping in the open outside their house.

A forest department team has reached the spot for inquiry.

Villagers said they were woken up by Sushila’s cries. The wolf had sunk its jaws into Sushila’s arm. It left her and ran away when the villagers raised the alarm.

“Although nobody saw Nankau being taken away,it is being assumed that it was a wolf,” said divisional forest official RP Singh.

Officials said it is possible that the animal came from the forests of Lakhimpur Kheri and Bahraich adjoining Sitapur.

4 wardens suspended

Lucknow: Four wardens of Farukkhabad district prison in Uttar Pradesh have been suspended after an inmate accused them of raping his wife on the jail premises,police said here today. Krishna Murari,Musharaf Ali,Ajay and Bikesh were suspended yesterday.
