Meeting

A delegation of the ‘NIS Sports Coach Association UP’ met Director Sports (UP) Dr Hari Om and apprised him of the problems being faced by coaches on contract basis being given honorarium. Talking to The Indian Express, the Director Sports said,“They requested for an increase in the honorarium being given to the coaches and I told them that the matter is already under consideration. As far as the demand for posting coaches in their own districts is concerned,I apprised them that it was already being followed unless and until somebody from another district is found more worthy for imparting coaching.”

The head of the delegation Farhat Ali Khan informed that there is nobody in Rampur to provide hockey coaching and Farhat was told that the Directorate had sent coaches to look after a hockey camp there but they did not join duty there. So,the Directorate will be sending a hockey coach to Rampur soon. As far as the matter of the regularisation of the jobs of these coaches was concerned, the delegation was told that it “was not possible due to technical reasons,” Dr Hari Om further added.
