ATS to probe antecedents of Meerut-based man

The state ATS has been probing into the antecedents of a Meerut-based man — Yusuf — whose name surfaced in the alleged import of 10 rifle telescopes. The cargo from Dubai had landed at Chennai airport on February 20. The ADG (Law & Order) Brij Lal said Yusuf,a resident of Meerut,has been contacted by Chennai customs officials for interrogation. The officials had received the tip-off about Yusuf from the forwarding agent of the consignment,Ayub Khan. Lal also said the ATS has been asked to collect details about Yusuf’s antecedents and the reason behind his importing rifle telescopes.
