The Bulandshahr police on Wednesday arrested an army jawan and claimed to have worked out a case of murder of two persons whose bodies were found with bullet wounds near a Mahindra Xylo at Amarpur village under Ahaar police circle on Tuesday.
The arrested jawan has been identified as Harinder Singh who belongs to Jat Regiment and was posted in Sikkim. He is a native of Bulandshahr.
The police are looking for Harinders brother-in-law Parvinder,who was also allegedly involved in the crime. Parvinder is also an army jawan and a resident of Gurgaon.
Station Officer,Ahaar police station,Rajeev Yadav said that on checking the jeep near which the bodies were found,they found the identity card of one of the accused with which they traced him. He added that Harinder confessed to the crime.
The accused told us that he and Parvinder along with their wives had gone to Mathura for some work. While returning,they hired the Xylo car. On the way,the driver and another person in the car consumed liquor, Yadav said.
He said that when they entered Bulandshahr,Parvinder and Harinder asked the driver to stop the vehicle and went out to ease themselves. Harinder said that when they got out,the driver Brijendra and another Harish Chandra misbehaved with the women in the car,and also took out a pistol. Harinder and Parvinder snatched the weapon and opened fired on them,killing the driver and the other person, said Yadav.
Harinder said that after the murders,they escaped as they saw some villagers approaching,the police said.
