Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav Tuesday launched a scathing attack on UPA government and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi for being politically dishonest towards the state government that had been extending all cooperation to the Centre. He also accused Sonia for not extending invitation to the state government while launching development projects in her parliamentary constituency,Rae Bareli.
We had provided land free of cost for construction of a hotel management institute,All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and food processing plant but were not even invited for their foundation laying ceremony. This is politically dishonesty. We will fight against this unfairness, Akhilesh said.
While Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi had laid the foundation stone for the food processing plant at Amethi,Sonia did the same for AIIMS in Rae Bareli. Akhilesh, however, did not take the names of the duo while attacking the Congress.
Akhilesh said the SP government never backtracked when it came to the welfare of the people and added,We gave free land for AIIMS,which the Mayawati government did not do during their regime. In fact,we demanded three such facilities in the state. They (Congress) were running from pillar to post during previous BSP regime yet we were not even informed about the foundation laying ceremony. We will take the issue to the masses.
He said that during the previous regime many SP colleagues were gharrased by some officials. They feel the pain that the same officials are in the present government, he said, adding,But its a compulsion,we have to get the work done.
He said a system has been put in place where workers will inform about his problem to the district level SP office bearers and which will be communicated to state secretary S R S Yadav. If it is not sorted out,I will personally attend to it, he said.
In a dig at the BJP and the Congress,he said some parties were making efforts to reach out to the youths and using social media for the purpose and added We are also not lagging behind in technology.
The chief minister was speaking to newsmen at his official residence after felicitating cyclists who had covered nearly 10,000 kilometers on cycle across 75 districts of the state. The cyclists - Ranjit Bachchan and Kalindi Nirmal Sharma were rewarded with Rs 5 lakh each.
