After Cong,BJP gets set to launch poll blitzkrieg

A week after the completion of the ongoing mass contact programme of Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi in the state,now the Bharatiya Janata Party is all set to launch its ‘BJP Lao-Pradesh Bachao’ campaign in all 403 Assembly constituencies across the state on December 1.

A week after the completion of the ongoing mass contact programme of Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi in the state,now the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to launch its ‘BJP Lao-Pradesh Bachao’ campaign in all 403 Assembly constituencies across the state on December 1.

Party leaders said the campaign would be more aggressive than recently concluded 18-day Jan Swabhiman Yatra as a number of national and state party leaders will camp in the state to address public meetings and interact with voters in constituencies during these 15 days.

A party leader said in comparison to coverage of 370 constituencies in 61 districts during Jan Swabhiman Yatra,the ‘BJP Lao-Pradesh Bachao’ campaign will cover all 403 constituencies in all 75 districts and over 2,150 programmes will be held.

“During the campaign,leaders will speak about the corruption prevailing in the governments of Congress,Bahujan Samaj Party and Samajwadi Party. They will also highlight the achievements of past BJP governments,” said Mahendra Singh,state vice-president and co-convener of the campaign.

BJP national president Nitin Gadkari will flag-off the campaign from Behat constituency in Saharanpur district on December 1. Senior leader Uma Bharti will be the convener of the campaign. It will be her first assignment in UP after re-induction in BJP.

Sources said district presidents have been asked to identify at least five places in each constituency for meetings.

Former party chief Rajnath Singh,national vice-presidents Kalraj Mishra,Vinay Katiyar,Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi,leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj,Opposition leader in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley,general secretary Narendra Singh Tomar,secretaries Santosh Gangwar and Kirit Somaiya and state president Surya Pratap Shahi among others will attend the meetings.
