5 months on,cops yet to crack Dr Arya murder case

Even five months after the murder of Family Welfare CMO Dr Vinod Kumar Arya,the Lucknow Police have failed to find the motive behind the crime.

Dr Arya was shot dead minutes after he left his Vikas Nagar residence in Lucknow for morning walk on October 27 last year. Dr Arya was posted in Lucknow.

Initially,the police suspected personal enmity as the cause of the murder.

However,later,on December 12,they claimed the murder was executed by contracts killer and arrested two persons — Vijay Dubey and Ajay Kumar Mishra in the case. The police also said the killers were hired by three jail inmates.

Although,the police took remand of the accused persons they failed to get any lead. The Gangster Act has been invoked against the accused in the case following which the police got one year’s time to file the chargesheet.

“The chargesheet has not been filed yet,” said Circle Officer,Aliganj,Sureshrao A Kulkarni.

According to police,the murder was executed by Vijay Dubey and Sudhakar Pandey,who is still absconding and carries a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head.

They said that Dubey and Pandey were reportedly hired by jail inmates — Amit Dixit and Sumit Dixit — who were allegedly given the murder contract for Rs 5 lakh by gangster Abhay Singh,also lodged in Jail.

The police said Ajay Mishra was assigned to track movements of the victim.
